Biography
In 2011 the metalcore group Tear Out the Heart assembled in St. Louis, bringing together vocalist Tyler Konersman with guitarists Josh Spohr and Matthieu Murphy, bassist Isaac Etter, and drummer Matt Epstein. The band issued a self-titled EP that year and followed it with Hell Is Empty during summer 2012, after which the quintet secured a deal with Victory Records. Their debut full-length, Violence, appeared in 2013. Throughout the next twelve months the musicians performed at multiple concerts, among them Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare, while also tracking material for a follow-up album. Caleb Shomo of Attack Attack! produced the sessions, yielding the more emotionally open and melodic Dead, Everywhere, which surfaced in early 2015.
