Biography
Parisian producer Alexis Duvivier crafts high-energy trap and EDM under the alias Aazar while contributing to more restrained sounds through the collective Point Point. His production and remix work has intersected with DJ Snake, Skrillex, Yellow Claw, and the Chainsmokers.
Recognition arrived with the 2014 track “Shake,” a joint effort alongside trap star UZ. That same year Jeffree’s, an imprint of Mad Decent, put out the forceful solo cut “Rundat.” After Aazar and DJ Snake delivered a widely received remix of Skrillex’s “Dirty Vibe,” OWSLA issued Contrastive Focus Reduplication, Point Point’s debut EP from 2015. At the outset the group operated as a quartet that included Aazar, Nömak, Devoted to God, and L’Homme Aux 4 Lettres. Also during 2015, Aazar issued “Pop Dat” alongside 4B and reworked Dillon Francis & DJ Snake’s “Get Low.” Point Point followed with the Family Portrait EP in 2016, while Aazar dropped the singles “Gyal” and “Ravage,” the latter a partnership with Bellorum. In 2017 came the “Booty Time” release with Cesqeaux together with remixes for Yellow Claw and J Balvin. Aazar and Bellecour unveiled the bassline-house throwback “Da Vinci” in 2018; that year also saw a collaboration with the Chainsmokers on “Siren” and a remix of David Guetta and Sia’s single “Flames.” Further activity in 2019 included a remix of Tiësto and Micky Blue’s “Diamonds” plus the track “Diva,” a joint venture featuring Swae Lee and Tove Lo.
