Biography
Constantine Anastasakis, a Long Island native now based in New York, channels Blonder as a vehicle for fusing classic post-punk with brighter synth pop and 21st-century indie rock. Only after finishing college did the New Yorker begin teaching himself guitar and Ableton, then started writing tracks during recovery from a bicycle accident that came afterward. With production assistance from Aaron Maine of Porches, Waylon Rector of Talk in Tongues, and additional collaborators, he issued the 2016 singles “Lean” and “Talk to Me,” followed by “In and Out” in April 2017. All three tracks, drawn from an ill-fated romance, formed the tracklist of Blonder’s debut EP $5, which appeared that June via 300 Entertainment. In the same period he performed across the U.S. and Canada backed by musicians from Guards and Wet.
