Born in Venezuela, singer, songwriter, and actor Chyno Miranda now makes his home in Miami. Long before his solo career, he scored repeated successes through his work with Calle Ciega and later as half of the duo Chino y Nacho.

He began performing as a teenager, steadily building experience in local bands and on his own until he earned a place on Venevision’s globally broadcast talent show Generation S. There he encountered Nacho, whose full name is Miguel Ignacio Mendoza Donatti, and together with fellow contestants they launched Calle Ciega, which issued albums in 2004 and 2005. In 2007 Miranda and Nacho left the group to establish Chino y Nacho. Their first release, the single “Epoca de Reyes,” charted widely and earned them a performance slot at the La Copa América soccer championship. The 2009 album Mi Niña Bonita reached the top of the charts, earned gold certification, and brought a Latin Grammy nomination. Further chart entries arrived with Supremo in 2011, Supremo: Reloaded in 2013, and Radio Universo in 2015. While maintaining a demanding tour schedule, Miranda also pursued acting, securing a recurring role in the 2009 telenovela Una Esposa Para Estela and the lead in the 2015 biopic El Malquerido, which chronicled the life of Venezuelan singer Felipe Pirela.

Chino y Nacho parted ways amicably in March 2017. The decision was first disclosed at that year’s Premios Lo Nuestro through a statement from manager Pablo Villalobos: “Here everything started, here everything is over, and here it all begins again.” Miranda later clarified that the project had simply been paused so each artist could develop solo work, stressing, “It is not a ‘goodbye’ but a ‘see you soon.’” His debut solo single, “Quedate Conmigo,” appeared in June and featured Wisin alongside Gente de Zona. The accompanying video accumulated nearly 50 million views, while the track reached number three on the Tropical Songs chart, number five on Latin Digital Songs Sales, and registered on four additional charts. In September he released the romantic, upbeat “Tú Me Elevas,” which signaled a shift toward mainstream pop and surpassed one million views within two weeks.
