Eem Triplin delivers a fluid, melody-driven delivery that might suggest an easy pivot into R&B, yet his detailed, layered wordplay keeps him firmly rooted in hip-hop rather than vocal performance. Known equally as a producer who first gained attention alongside fellow MC $NOT, he began issuing commercial tracks in 2018 during his late teens. The melodic “AWKWARD FREESTYLE” from 2022 turned the Pennsylvania native into a viral sensation, after which he dropped the Still Pretty EP and several Sony-backed singles such as the hard-hitting “stephanie” throughout 2023 and 2024.

Born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Naaem—shortened to Eem—first connected with hip-hop when his brother played him records by Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, and Tyler, The Creator. His sister Nondi_ sparked his interest in production, while high-school music courses and band participation sharpened his skills. He began posting bedroom-made recordings online, supplied beats for rapper $NOT, and later added his own rapping to the mix. Between 2018 and 2021 he released various tracks and concise EPs including N0wh3r3, No More Tears, and Gutta, then achieved widespread notice in 2022 via “AWKWARD FREESTYLE.” By year’s end he had also shared “Louie V,” “Just Friends?,” and the $NOT collaboration “Like You Know.” In 2023 the seven-track Still Pretty EP arrived, led by “Walked In.” The following year brought further Sony-supported singles such as “stephanie,” “FIJI” featuring Cruza, and “CRAZY H*ES.”
