Belgian vocalist Evi Goffin, performing under the name Evy, shares an uncanny vocal resemblance with 1980s British pop singer Kim Wilde. She launched her recording career by linking up with Medusa for the song "Into My Life," which they presented at the celebrated Eurovision festival. Evy later lent her talents to the club and dance outfits Fiocco and 2 Fabiola. She then aligned with producers Peter Luts and David Vervoort (aka Dave McCullen) to create the group Lasgo. The resulting club and dance trio made its entrance with the trance-tinged single "Something," paving the way for the album Some Things. In that same period, Evi Goffin cut her debut solo single, "Turn You On."
