Born in Rotterdam in 1990 as Faisal Ben Said, FAIS grew up immersed in the sounds of Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, and Michael Jackson, taking up piano and vocals while still a child. His thick, raspy delivery carries yearning, passionate words across uplifting dance rhythms colored by tropical elements. Early success arrived with the 2016 debut single “Hey,” a bright dance-pop track produced by longtime friend Afrojack that climbed into the Dutch Top Ten and ranked among the year’s most-aired radio songs. Another Afrojack collaboration, “Used to Have It All,” earned platinum certification and sustained radio play.

Behind the scenes FAIS has supplied material for David Guetta, Miss Montreal, Hiroomi Tosaka, and additional artists. Among the 2017 cuts he co-wrote are Afrojack and David Guetta’s “Another Life” featuring Ester Dean, Afrojack and Luis Fonsi’s “Wave Your Flag,” and Hiroomi Tosaka’s “Wasted Love.” That same year he issued the solo single “Ask Me Tomorrow.” In 2018 “Know You Better” became another major radio success, joined by “Make Me Do” and the acoustic EP Reflection. “I Want You Now” followed in 2019, and he returned in 2021 with “Love You More,” continuing his steady pace of writing and recording.
