Biography
Travis Scott heads the JackBoys crew, extending the reach of his Grammy-nominated work as rapper and producer through Cactus Jack Records alongside DJ Chase B and the imprint’s signees Sheck Wes and Don Toliver. Drawing from origins in Houston and New York streets, the group delivered its self-titled project in late 2019 and promptly claimed the top position on the Billboard 200.
At the height of multiple platinum singles and the number-one run of his second album Birds in the Trap Sing Brian McKnight, Scott founded Cactus Jack in 2017 to cultivate and link emerging talents, each entering separate joint arrangements with major labels. Throughout 2017 and 2018 the Cactus Jack imprint appeared on Scott and Quavo’s Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho, which peaked at number three, on Scott’s solo album Astroworld, his second to reach number one, and on Sheck Wes’ Mudboy, home to the Top Ten single “Mo Bamba.”
Once Don Toliver, another Astroworld contributor, and Luxury Tax joined the roster, Scott and his associates assembled the seven-track JackBoys debut, released via Cactus Jack and Epic in the final week of 2019. Young Thug, Quavo, Offset, and Pop Smoke guested, while Rosalía and Lil Baby joined a remix of Scott’s “Highest in the Room,” the original of which led the Hot 100. The project opened at number one on the Billboard 200.
