Kelsey Hart

Kelsey Hart embraces a direct, no-frills approach to country music rooted in the sounds and attitudes of the 1990s, channeling that energetic style forward into the present decade rather than simply reviving it. He first drew notice with the heartfelt ballad “Life with You,” composed as a tribute to his wife. The track spread widely online during 2023 and broadened his reach, paving the way for the more upbeat follow-up “Flannel” in 2024.

Born in Kentucky and raised in Greenville, Hart began singing as a child through church involvement. A sixth-grade appearance in a school production ignited his performing ambitions, though that spark faded temporarily when he blanked on lyrics during a holiday show. He retained his passion for vocals and later developed a strong affinity for country artists such as Blake Shelton and Brett Eldredge. Throughout his teenage years athletics occupied most of his attention, yet after graduation he shifted toward music on a part-time professional basis, motivated in part by Billy Gilman’s 2016 run on The Voice.

His initial group, Boys of Broad, built a local following that led to a battle-of-the-bands victory and an opportunity to cut an EP in Nashville. The band soon dissolved, but Hart’s commitment to music only grew stronger. Moving to Nashville, he took work as a barber while frequenting the city’s songwriting circles, eventually securing a publishing deal with Curb Records. When Jake Owen placed the Hart-co-written “As Long as You’re in It” on a 2017 Greatest Hits package, the publishing arrangement expanded into a full recording contract with the label.

Hart’s debut major-label single, “Let It Ring,” surfaced in 2019 and later served as the centerpiece of his first EP, Give You Mine, issued in February 2022. Two additional singles arrived that year—“Forget to Remember You” and “My Daddy’s Fault”—followed by a run of five releases in 2023 that began with “6-Pack Gone.” Although “Drink About Me,” “4x4,” and “Country in Business” also appeared, none matched the streaming momentum of the romantic “Life with You,” which caught fire online late in 2023. Capitalizing on that visibility, Hart issued the brighter “Flannel” at the start of 2024.
