Biography
Los Brujos, an Argentine alternative outfit, entered the local music circuit in 1988. The group fused 1960s beat textures with 1980s hardcore-metal aggression, which led observers to label them experimental. Their stage shows further set them apart, as the musicians cultivated an enveloping mood that turned each performance into a singular theatrical event. Daniel Melero oversaw the recording of the band’s debut album, Fin De Semana Salvaje, issued in 1992; shortly afterward the track “Kanishka” entered the charts. San Cipriano appeared the next year, and Guerra De Nervios followed in 1995, incorporating contributions from Gustavo Cerati and Aitor Graña, drummer for Juana La Loca. In 1998 the members declared the band’s dissolution.
