Four friends who went by the nicknames Piro, Johnny Danger, Marcelo, and Rip Sick established the Mexican rock band Ritmo Peligroso toward the close of the 1970s. Throughout the eighties the group performed as Dangerous Rhythms, contributing the songs “Marielito” and “Mentes Modernas” to a local rock compilation while also issuing the album En La Mira. In 1984 the band launched tours through California and Mexico. Two years later ex-los Clips Oscar Salazar entered the lineup as Armando Espinoza replaced Benjamín Hidalgo on percussion. The band dissolved temporarily in 1991 yet was revived by its original members in May 1996, releasing the album Cortes Finos in 1998.
