Tom the Mail Man

Sean Brown performs as Tom the Mail Man, a Georgia rapper and singer who treats his work—an emotionally transparent, casually melodic, and largely mellow fusion of hip-hop, contemporary R&B, and emo-pop—as personal therapy. Considerable early momentum arrived with the 2017 single “Curse3dgirls,” after which he stayed productive through further singles and projects such as Schizo (2018) and Sunset Visionary, Vol. 2 (2022), all issued on his imprint TheDeliveryCrew.

Brown devoted himself to music in his junior year of high school. Strong response to “Curse3dgirls,” originally released in 2017, secured him a concert in Atlanta roughly 45 miles west of his hometown Monroe and led him to abandon a college track scholarship. A run of standalone tracks and the nine-song Schizo, featuring two appearances by fellow DeliveryCrew member KotyKillem, appeared in 2018. A pair of EPs and approximately twenty singles followed in 2019 and 2020, capped by the full-length Liephas Evil that same year. Output slowed in 2021, yet he still supplied numerous singles and Sometimes Sorry Isn't Enough, several of whose tracks quickly passed seven-digit streaming totals. The acoustic lovelorn ballad “Brown Eyes and Backwoods” opened his 2022 releases; Sunset Visionary, Vol. 2 arrived next, accompanied by singles such as “Notdead!” and “You're the One I Like Now.”
