Biography
Volumen Cero, the Miami-based Latin rock ensemble, assembled in the late 1990s from South American musicians who had previously performed as Orgasmic Bliss and issued an independent album in 1996. The following year the group adopted its current name and made its first notable appearance by entering a national contest backed by the Latin television network Telemundo, where it reached finalist standing. May 1998 brought the release of the debut album Andromeda, produced by Richard Coleman, while the band also joined a tribute to British goth rock act the Cure with its version of “Lovesong” and contributed a track akin to Caifanes that featured “No Dejes Que.” Mounting interest around the group led Warner Music Latina to sign Volumen Cero in 2001, resulting in the summer 2002 issuance of the Loces album.
