Biography
Alyx Ander crafts shimmering dance-pop tracks that chase euphoria through intricate yet understated arrangements and vocals steeped in yearning. Raised in Queens, New York, he trained in classical music and theater at the LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, yet the city’s club circuit soon captured his attention after he caught sets by Danny Tenaglia and Tiësto. Relocating to Miami to continue his education, he began producing dance music. In 2015 Nettwerk’s EDM label Nettrax issued his debut single, “Close Enough,” which featured Maria Z; spins from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 and Jason Bentley on KCRW’s nationally syndicated Morning Becomes Eclectic propelled the track to millions of streams. The following year brought his second release, “Memories of You” featuring Srey Davi, while the producer also delivered remixes of Delerium and Sarah McLachlan’s enduring “Silence” alongside The Voice finalist Caroline Pennell’s interpretation of Xavier Rudd’s “Follow the Sun.” Pennell contributed vocals to Alyx Ander’s third single, “Wake Up for the Night,” issued in 2017.
