With his genre-blending approach to country, pop, and R&B, Nashville singer Drew Green initially built recognition through songwriting before stepping into the spotlight via the 2020 releases “Little More Be Alright” and “Right Where I Be,” both of which featured on his first EP, Dirt Boy, Vol. 1. The streaming success “Hooch” appeared on the 2021 sequel, Dirt Boy, Vol. 2, while the standalone single “Good Ol’ Man” surfaced at the start of 2022.

McMinnville, Tennessee native Green spent his childhood on a tree farm, where family members acquainted him with country performers such as Sammy Kershaw and Alan Jackson. In his teenage years, friends broadened his listening habits with a blend of hip-hop, pop, and R&B acts that included Usher, Craig David, Matchbox Twenty, and Dr. Dre. He performed with bands throughout high school and refined his songwriting abilities while attending college. After graduation, he settled in Nashville, where he sang with the house band at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, held a daytime position at a bank, and continued chasing a songwriting path. Industry traction arrived when he co-wrote tracks such as Florida Georgia Line’s “Colorado” alongside Hardy and Hunter Phelps. In November 2018 he secured a publishing deal with Brett James’ Cornman Music. Further progress led to a June 2020 recording agreement with Villa 40/Sony Music Nashville, which coincided with the debut single “Little More Be Alright.” The follow-up track “Right Where I Be” arrived the next month, and both cuts were collected on Dirt Boy, Vol. 1. The twang-driven “Hooch” preceded Dirt Boy, Vol. 2 in 2021, and Green opened 2022 with the country-pop and R&B-inflected viral release “Good Ol’ Man.”
