U.K.-based artist Tyler Brooks, who records as skaiwater, crafts introspective, emotionally charged tracks that blend pop melodies, rap flows, emo sensibilities, and the high-energy pulse of dance and rave scenes. Early on, the producer and songwriter linked with an up-and-coming Lil Nas X for the 2018 track “No Love,” then refined an evolving style across singles and projects that included the 2019 EP After God Fear Eve. Breakthrough arrived in 2022 via the Jersey club–driven single “#miles,” whose Lil Uzi Vert remix later appeared on the mixtape rave.

Raised in Nottingham, north of London, Brooks learned music-production software from a parent and initially released material under the name Young Skai before settling on skaiwater. Early listening leaned toward EDM figures such as Skrillex and Nero, yet exposure to Drake and Travis Scott steered the sound toward rap-oriented work. The EP Black surfaced in 2018, followed by After God Fear Eve in 2019; after inking a deal with Cinematic Music Group, Brooks issued tracks including “Blakehomie” and the alternative-rock-leaning “Intu.” The 2020 EP Party Pack arrived next, and Brooks earned a co-writing credit on Lil Nas X’s single “Holiday.” Mixtape Happy Hour dropped in 2021, featuring Lil Keed on the cut “Work!”

That same year’s Jersey club experiments “#miles” and “eyes” exploded on TikTok. A “Jersey Mix” of “#miles” brought in Bandmanrill and Riovaz, while scene veteran DJ Sliink supplied his own rework. The Lil Uzi Vert version joined the November 2022 release of rave on Geffen, issued while skaiwater opened European dates for Lil Nas X.
