Biography
Slump6s channels an expansive spectrum of feelings through deliberately off-kilter rhythms that are sharpened by his incisive vocal lines. The rapper and singer broke through in 2021 via the BabySantana collaboration “Antisocial,” inked a major-label contract, and released Origin, his debut full-length project, all while still attending high school in his hometown of Rochester, New York.
Namil Bridges was immersed in music from an early age, frequenting his father’s recording studio and learning drums along with woodwind and brass instruments during his school years. Drawing influence from XXXTentacion and Ski Mask the Slump God, he began posting material on SoundCloud in eighth grade, simultaneously developing skills as a recording engineer that he would later continue to apply. His initial commercial releases surfaced in 2020 as a series of standalone tracks that culminated in the six-song EP 16. The following year he teamed with BabySantana on “DAKOTAROMANI” and “Antisocial,” the latter an unruly track whose streams swiftly surpassed ten million. Slump6s then signed with Republic Records and intensified his output with the solo major-label single “Origin,” which preceded the album Origin and its curt track “Moment.” Throughout 2022 he issued further singles including “Presidential,” “Chrome Hearts Jacket,” and “Own It” while his guest appearances on other artists’ records multiplied.
