Originating from Texas, Cico P channels vivid verses on sex and drugs through a relaxed, tuneful trap approach. Breakthrough success came in 2021 once “Tampa,” an exceptionally fluid cut first issued two years earlier, gained viral traction online. The song resurfaced on several subsequent projects, among them NawfJaxx in 2021, while additional city-themed singles such as “Vegas” and “Houston” also appeared.

Born Christopher Simms, Jr. in Jacksonville, Texas, roughly two hours from Dallas, he absorbed hip-hop and R&B from an early age. Rapping alongside his cousin began at nine, and his first self-recordings were made at thirteen using the “I Am T-Pain” app. Initially performing as Cicoeee P, he released the debut mixtape S.U.A. Kid in 2018, followed by Sweet Union in 2019. The atmospheric “Tampa” first registered locally before achieving broader internet prominence in early 2021 and eventually entering the Billboard Hot 100. Later that year the track appeared on three further releases—Bonfidential Files, S.U.A. Files, and NawfJaxx, which featured guest spots from Maxo Kream, Yella Beezy, and Kevin Gates—while “Squid Games” and “Vegas” closed out 2021. “Got Damn” and “Houston” arrived the following year in 2022.
