New York rap duo G4 Boyz features brothers Ice Baby and Buggy, who trace their roots to Nigerian and Ghanaian heritage while growing up on Staten Island. Their sound merges trap and gangsta rap into a high-energy, ostentatious style whose lyrics dwell on money, sex, and violence. Over the years the pair have worked with prominent figures such as Lil Wayne, Migos, and Waka Flocka Flame, while releasing multiple mixtapes, among them 2017’s The African Plug.

Ice Baby and Buggy first took up the microphone during their teenage years, drawing inspiration from G-Unit, Gucci Mane, Jeezy, and similar acts. Their initial traction came in the early 2010s: Waka Flocka Flame appeared on the 2010 cut “Test Our Diamonds,” and Lil Wayne joined them on 2011’s “I Do Me.” The 2013 release Banksy preceded Ballin wit No Deal 2 in 2014, which included Migos on the “Bricks (Remix).” Control Your Jealousy arrived the next year and contained “Alexander Wang,” featuring OG Maco. After issuing The African Plug in 2017, G4 Boyz dropped “Patek Philippe,” their most successful single to date, whose profile rose further with a 2018 remix that brought in Tory Lanez. Later tracks included “Swipe It Up” and “More Ice.”
