Hunxho

Atlanta rapper and singer Hunxho blends smooth instrumentals with Auto-Tuned melodies to temper his raw accounts of street life. After beginning with independent mixtapes, he quickly earned high-profile features, as 21 Savage and NoCap appeared on the 300 Entertainment projects Street Poetry in 2022 and 22 the following year. His first Billboard 200 entry arrived with the 2023 project For Her. During 2024 he issued multiple singles, among them the 2 Chainz collaboration “Come Over,” before unveiling the EP Before the Album and the subsequent full-length Thank God.

Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Hunxho played high-school basketball, then attended college in Colorado before settling in Atlanta to pursue rap. His initial tracks surfaced around 2017, leading to early projects such as the 2018 mixtape True Story and the 2020 album Street Poet. The 2021 single “Let’s Get It” drew enough attention for a 21 Savage remix, prompting 300 Entertainment to sign him for the 2022 LP Street Poetry. Months later he released the EP XHOSEN. In April 2023 he issued the album 22, whose title references both the 2200 2nd Ave. address of his first Atlanta residence and his age when he signed his recording contract; the set included the Grizzley-assisted “Uh Huh.” Later that year came the EP 4 Days in LA and the mixtape For Her, the latter expanded by a deluxe edition containing additional tracks.

Early 2024 saw Hunxho concentrate on standalone releases, starting with “Xho Sex,” followed in February by the Summer Walker duet “Your Friends,” then “Closer to Over” two months afterward. May brought “Come Over,” a collaboration with 2 Chainz and producer Mike WiLL Made-It. In June he dropped the nine-song EP Before the Album, which entered the Billboard 200 at number 197 and signaled an imminent studio album. Thank God arrived in October, peaking at number 87; its 22 tracks featured contributions from Polo G, Ty Dolla $ign, Keyshia Cole, Mariah the Scientist, and others.
