Omar Courtz

Renowned for his singular vocal timbre, signature pink hair, and captivating live performances, Omar Courtz hails from Puerto Rico, where he works as a singer, rapper, and songwriter blending reggaeton with Latin pop. Born Joshua Omar Medina Cortes in 1997, he felt drawn early on to the excitement of the urbano world and its way of life, beginning to upload tracks while still in his early teens. Pitbull discovered him and quickly signed the newcomer to MR.305 Records, leading to Courtz’s initial breakout success in 2020 via the viral track “En Su Nota.” In the years that followed, his visibility surged dramatically as streams and views climbed into the millions, he issued numerous singles, and he joined forces with leading figures across the genre. The year 2023 proved especially prolific, bringing guest spots on Pitbull’s “Me Pone Mal,” Daddy Yankee’s “BEACHY,” iZaak’s “Bonnie and Clyde Remix,” and J Balvin’s “En Alta.” His much-anticipated debut full-length project finally appeared as 2024’s Primera Musa, a trap-infused collection that includes appearances by Dei V, Rauw Alejandro, and Anuel AA.
