Rapper and singer Rich Amiri, born Amiri Chase, draws from Atlantans Future, Young Thug, and Lil Keed yet stamps an individual mark on trap as a Bostonian pluggnb performer whose vocals shift between menacing and anguished tones. During his teenage years SoundCloud and TikTok became the outlets where he first built momentum. Alongside a run of singles that stretches back to 2019, he issued the EPs Chase and For the Better in 2022, then followed with the albums Evolution and Ghetto Fabulous in 2023; the latter includes the cold-blooded cut “One Call,” which quickly passed ten million streams. Additional 2024 singles include “Count My Bandz.”

He started composing tracks while still in high school on a friend’s GarageBand setup, then moved operations to his own bedroom once he had assembled sufficient equipment for self-recording. An enthusiastic SoundCloud and TikTok participant, he began posting his own material and closed out 2019 by self-releasing his debut commercial single, “Duwap.” Among the many songs he dropped in the ensuing years, the simultaneously brash and dejected “Walk In” connected most strongly, racking up millions of streams in short order. After Chase and For the Better appeared as his first two EPs in 2022, the rapper/singer joined the rosters of Internet Money and 10K Projects. The partnership opened in 2023 with the Lil Tecca collaboration “Poppin,” which served as the lead single for Evolution. That twelve-track project surfaced in March 2023 and was succeeded eight months later by Ghetto Fabulous, a longer and fiercer set whose solitary character was reinforced by the absence of featured artists. Further singles arrived throughout 2024 in the form of “Madonna & Rihanna,” “Out of My Mind,” “Keep It Cool,” and “Count My Bandz.”
