Biography
Operating out of Los Angeles, Zookëper produces pulsing, hook-driven electronic music as a DJ and producer. Remix assignments first brought attention in 2013, ahead of the 2015 arrival of his own singles "Gunz" and "Move Ya Feet."
New Jersey native Michael Doerr, who records as Zookëper, began performing as a touring guitarist with Cash Cash in the late 2000s. Once he left the group, he turned to shaping his own electronic productions. Those efforts quickly led to demand for his remix work on material by Cher, Jason Derulo, and Small Pools. The same 2015 slate that introduced his originals "Gunz" and "Move Ya Feet" was followed by live dates that included support runs with Tritonal, Bingo Players, and other acts. A version of Hariz’s “OVRBRD” appeared in 2017, and the next year brought wider notice through his remix of John Mayer’s “New Light.” Also in 2018 he released the track “For Real” alongside Goshfather and the single “On N On” featuring Iceman.
