Born and raised in Arkansas before establishing himself as a Nashville-based tunesmith, Adam Hambrick specializes in soulful, heartfelt material that blends country, Americana, and pop; until he claimed the spotlight for himself in 2018, most of these compositions reached listeners through other performers. The son of a Baptist pastor, he grew up steeped in gospel and country traditions, frequently joining family members around the piano to sing hymns and bluegrass gospel numbers. A 1962 Gibson B-25 entered his hands at age twelve, prompting an unwavering commitment to music that led him to the University of Central Arkansas, where he spent his free time playing shows throughout the Little Rock area.

After releasing the self-recorded ten-song project Fighting from the Ground in 2011, he was spotted by country star Justin Moore during an appearance on an Arkansas morning television program; this encounter helped facilitate his relocation to Nashville by 2013 and the subsequent signing of a publishing agreement with Sony/ATV. One of his earliest efforts there, “Old Habits,” became a hit duet for Moore and Miranda Lambert, after which he supplied material to Eli Young Band and Dan + Shay. In 2018 he chose to emulate the path taken by former songwriters turned headliners Sam Hunt and Chris Stapleton, issuing his own debut studio album, Wheels or Wings.
