Affiance

Affiance fuses the intricate precision of traditional metal with the relentless intensity of metalcore, yielding melodic metalcore infused with classic NWOBHM flair. The quintet came together in Cleveland, Ohio during 2007, when guitarists Dominic Dickinson and Brett Wondrak joined forces with drummer Patrick Galante, bassist Cameron Keeter, and vocalist Dennis Tvrdik. Their approach merges Iron Maiden-style harmonized guitar heroics and soaring vocals with the breakdown-driven aggression of metalcore, resulting in music that prizes both instrumental craft and mosh-pit energy. Impressed by the self-released EP Calm Before the Storm and the band’s explosive stage shows, the Bullet Tooth label signed Affiance in 2010, issuing the debut full-length No Secret Revealed before year’s end. Late in 2012 the group delivered its second album, the Billboard-charting The Campaign, which included guest appearances by Dustin Davidson of August Burns Red, Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire, and Ricky Armellino of Century. Anticipating the third album Blackout, the band dropped the single “Limitless” in summer 2014, with the full record following that autumn. After sustained touring, Affiance crowdfunded and released the EP Gaia in 2016.
