Albee Al

Born Albert Robinson in 1988, New Jersey rapper Albee Al channeled the turbulence of his personal history into his initial recordings, forging raw and forceful hip-hop shaped by the urban dangers and aggression he encountered early in life. He launched his recording efforts via independently made mixtapes along with featured appearances on other performers’ tracks during the opening years of the 2010s. Soon after entering the field, Albee Al confronted murder charges and remained incarcerated for four years while awaiting his court date. Cleared of the accusations in 2014, Al directed his full attention toward music, issuing standalone singles in quick succession across 2015 and drawing attention to cuts such as "Uncomparable" and "Welcome to My City." He kept producing singles and mixtapes in the years that followed, among them joint tracks with Monty, Uncle Murda, Ve, and Daddy Co. The complete project Tears 4 a Goon appeared in 2017 and contained the song "Loving You." The mixtape Koba arrived in 2019, reaching number 21 on Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart.
