Hailing from the village of West Chiltington in West Sussex, United Kingdom, Alex Adair functions as a DJ, producer, and remixer with close connections to the tropical house style. Like fellow producers Kygo and Felix Jaehn, his tracks rely on driving uptempo 4/4 house rhythms paired with bright, laid-back synth tones, acoustic touches, and signature percussion elements such as xylophones. During 2014 he supplied remixes of Jessie Ware's "Say You Love Me" and Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud." His decisive breakthrough arrived in spring 2015 with the original release "Make Me Feel Better," a high-energy cut built around a sample of Ashford & Simpson's "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing." The track originated as an assignment for a creative music technology course at Canterbury University before landing on SoundCloud, where it quickly stirred excitement among EDM listeners. Virgin EMI issued the single, which rose to number 13 on the U.K. singles chart. Adair sustained that momentum by unveiling his next single, "Heaven." In August 2017 he resurfaced with the Island Records single "Casual."
