Biography
American electronic act Jack Ü emerged as a collaborative side project from Diplo and Skrillex, fusing house, dubstep, and trap into a distinctive sound. The pair had already joined forces across multiple ventures, among them Skrillex's guest spot on Diplo's Major Lazer endeavor and Diplo's production contributions to Skrillex's Bangarang EP as well as the full-length Recess, before delivering their debut live performance at the Mad Decent Block Party in 2013. Additional festival dates followed, each showcasing eclectic selections that eventually prompted the creation of original material. Their first single, "Take Ü There" featuring Kiesza, appeared in 2014. One year later came the full-length Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü on OWSLA/Mad Decent, which yielded the multi-platinum hit "Where Are U Now" with Justin Bieber and reached the top of the dance/electronic charts in both Australia and the U.S.
