Josiah Queen functions as a worship leader who updates Christian music for present-day listeners by fusing narrative-driven songwriting with a love for expansive, folk-rooted arena performances. His sincere fusion of spiritual themes and atmospheric modern rock took shape in the 2023 Christian success “The Prodigal,” which came out ahead of the identically titled debut album issued in 2024.

Born to two ministers, Josiah Queen experienced the Lord’s presence early in life. At age nine he traveled with his parents to a young adults’ conference in Kansas City, an occasion that transformed his outlook. During the gathering he encountered the Holy Spirit, an encounter that sparked a deep desire to create his own sacred compositions. Throughout his teenage years he wrote original pieces, served as a worship leader, and occasionally joined his itinerant preacher mother on the road.

Queen issued his debut single, “God of Miracles,” in 2020 at the age of sixteen. In 2022 he began sharing music consistently on social platforms and put out the tracks “Grave Clothes” and “Use Me.” Early in 2023 the song “I Am Barabbas” marked his initial major breakthrough, reaching number 47 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart that May. Subsequent releases “Fishes and Loves” and “The Prodigal” expanded his audience further. Four additional singles—“Garden in Manhattan,” “My Promised Land,” “Altars Over Stages,” and “Die a Beggar”—kept listeners engaged and all appeared on the May 2024 debut album The Prodigal.
