Loe Shimmy, a rapper whose style blends melody with raw edges, channels a hazy and largely somber perspective on street life that defines his work out of Florida. Tracks like “Broken” and “Fallin” illustrate this approach most clearly. Drawing influence from an array of Southern voices spanning generations, among them Soulja Slim and Kodak Black, another artist who grew up in Pompano Beach, he first made commercial recordings available in 2020. Those initial efforts paved the way for a run of increasingly focused releases that includes Zuper PowerZ in 2021, Z End in 2022, and the charting Zombieland 2 in 2024; Nardy World followed later the same year.

Born Shamar Cox, the artist made his entrance that year via the independently issued Zombie Land. The six-song project featured “Relapse,” whose slow-jam production and measured delivery set the template for his output by mixing insight, hostility, and unease. Later in 2020 came the similarly concise World War Z, after which he expanded to a full-length with Zuper PowerZ in 2021. The woozy Z End appeared in 2022, the same year he dropped the standalone single “Fallin,” a brooding track that soon surpassed several million streams. Throughout 2023 and into 2024 he joined Wizz Havinn, Luh Tyler, BossMan Dlow, and C Stunna on “4AM at Coffee Zone,” then paired with Veeze for “Dirty Soda Junkie,” before delivering the sequel project Zombieland 2. Arriving in March 2024, the album entered Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and contained the prior Veeze track along with guest spots from Luh Tyler, BLP Kosher, and ffawty. The Z Files and Nardy World rounded out his output that year.
