Argentinian dance-pop singer and songwriter María Becerra delivers her material with a warm, conversational vocal quality and emotive delivery that has propelled her to multiple chart-topping positions. She first built visibility as a social media personality, joining other popular vloggers for a 2017 theater tour across her home country before turning serious attention to music. Her initial Argentinian Top 40 entry arrived via the 2020 remix of debut single “High,” which featured Tini and Lola Índigo and climbed to number two; she soon claimed the top spot outright with the 2021 Tini collaboration “Miénteme.” Months later that same year her first album, Animal, appeared and generated further successes such as “Animal” alongside Cazzu and “Wow Wow” featuring Becky G. In 2022 she issued her sophomore album, La Nena de Argentina, then scored two additional number-one singles in 2023—the collaborative “Los del Espacio” and the Latin Grammy-nominated “CORAZÓN VACÍO.” The run of hits extended into 2024 with “Imán (Two of Us)” and “Cuando Te Vi,” the latter pairing her with Big One and Trueno.

Born María de los Ángeles Becerra in Quilmes, province of Buenos Aires, she opened her first social media channel at age twelve. A comedic monologue posted at fifteen quickly went viral, after which she expanded her following through vlog entries, singing performances, and dance tutorials. That momentum led to a 2017 national tour with the live theater production Original, Laboratorio de Clones, which showcased Becerra alongside five fellow social-media figures.

She self-released her pop debut single “High” together with the three-track EP 222 in 2019; “High” registered on charts in Spain and reached number 59 in Argentina. Those results secured a contract with 300 Entertainment, which released a breakout remix of “High” featuring Tini and Lola Índigo. A series of Top Ten singles followed, among them the title track “Animal” from her August 2021 full-length debut. During this period she also topped the chart with “Miénteme” featuring Tini and with “Qué Más Pues?,” her collaboration with J Balvin that appeared on his album José. Animal supplied additional hit pairings, including “Cazame” with Tiago PZK and “Wow Wow” with Becky G. In 2022 she teamed with Prince Royce on “Te Espero,” which peaked at number 28 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, and delivered her second album, La Nena de Argentina, produced by Nico Cotton, Xross, and Big One; the project yielded singles “Ojalá” and “Automático.”

Mid-2023 brought another Argentine Hot 100 number one with the Big One–produced “Los del Espacio,” uniting Becerra, Duki, Emilia, FMK, LIT Killah, Rusherking, and Tiago PZK—an alliance formed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The track also reached the Top Ten in several other Spanish-speaking territories and entered the Billboard Global 100. She returned to number one in Argentina with her own “CORAZÓN VACÍO,” later nominated for Best Urban Fusion/Performance at the subsequent Latin Grammy Awards, and entered the Top 20 in 2023 via the Enrique Iglesias duet “Asi Es la Vida.” Among the 2024 singles that maintained her streak were the Top Five entries “Imán (Two of Us),” “Cuando Te Vi” with Big One and Trueno, and “Piscina” with Ovy on the Drums and Chencho Corleone. That year she also appeared on Paris Hilton’s album Infinite Icon with the track “Without Love.” Becerra opened 2025 by joining Lola Índigo and Villano Antillano on a remix of “La Reina.”
