Pyrex

Pyrex crafts adventurous, atmospheric trap instrumentals that support numerous prominent rappers while he simultaneously develops his own catalog of emotionally direct solo work. As part of the renowned production and songwriting collective 808 Mafia, he has supplied beats to Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, and many additional artists. His independent output began in 2019, continued with projects such as the 2023 EP Thanks for holding on, and reached a milestone with the 2024 debut album Sincerely, Rex.

Born Kedrick Cannady in Baltimore, he first assembled club-music mixes until an acquaintance introduced him to trap production techniques. He devoted consistent time to beat-making and later relocated to Atlanta to advance his career. Recognition from Metro Boomin and Southside led to his recruitment into 808 Mafia, where he contributed productions for Future, Juice WRLD, J. Cole, Lil Yachty, and numerous others. Early releases appeared under the names PyrexTurnMeUp and Pyrex Whippa before he shortened the alias to Pyrex. The 2019 singles preceded the 2020 Southside collaboration Blood on the Hills, whose tracks “Surgery” and “Desires” highlighted his atmospheric fusion of trap and R&B. The EP Thanks for holding on followed in 2023, the mixtape Guns N’ Romance arrived in 2024, and the genre-blurring full-length Sincerely, Rex completed the sequence.
