Rapper SipTee channeled his melodic vocals into a distinctive version of the acoustic trap wave that defined the early 2020s. Jackson-based artist SipTee entered the scene in 2020 via the single "Night Shift," shaping emotion-driven trap that echoed the piano-laced, acoustic-leaning paths then prevalent across the genre. He followed that introduction with the passionate-vocal singles "Toxic Vibes," "For Never My Bestfriend," and "Late Nights" before securing a Def Jam deal in 2022. On the new imprint his sound shifted toward a harder edge, marked by more forceful delivery and guest appearances from EST Gee and Roi. That October he released his first mixtape, the ten-track #1 Draft Pick, which showcased the lighter, airier trap aesthetic that had become his hallmark.
