MobSquad Nard

MobSquad Nard hails from Jacksonville, Florida, where his brisk, high-energy rhymes deliver raw accounts of street existence while his productions maintain an insistent yet polished and groovy feel shaped by 2Pac, OutKast, and various No Limit and Suave House acts. During high school he helped establish the MobSquad crew, which issued the 2005 mixtape Get Your Mind Right, Vol. 1; the collective later put out additional tapes via Hustle House until the 2011 death of the label head curtailed its output, coinciding with Nard’s several-month incarceration in 2013. After his release he launched a solo career in 2014 that swiftly built traction within Jacksonville’s hip-hop community. The following year he joined Cinematic Music Group and dropped his first single, “Right Ni.” In 2016 came the mixtape Everything Clean But Da Ashtray, boasting guest spots and beats from Big K.R.I.T., 21 Savage, Trae tha Truth, 1200 Yak, Zaytoven, and additional contributors, before he unveiled “Peephole” later that year as the lead single from his next project, Nardo Da’Vinci.
