Biography
Rapper Tay B projects an air of detachment that masks both his incisive lyricism and his readiness for conflict. Hailing from Detroit, he first drew local attention and radio rotation in 2017 via the track "Back 2 Back." That notably forceful single effectively set his trajectory in motion, one marked to date by guest appearances alongside Payroll Giovanni, Lil Durk, Lil Baby, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie, plus a recording contract with Giant Music. Beyond a string of standalone releases, he has dropped multiple EPs and albums, among them AFLN in 2017, 20/20 Vision in 2020, and 4eva in My Bag in 2022.
Born Diamante Mateo Warren, Tay B laid down his first recordings at age twelve and initially built recognition through MySpace. His real breakthrough arrived in 2017 when "Back 2 Back" surfaced on SoundCloud and received an official commercial push via his own AFLN imprint. That same label name adorned his debut mixtape, which surfaced late that year and included verses from Sada Baby, FMB DZ, and additional contributors. Three further projects—AFNC, Pioneer, and LL Cool Tay—followed in quick succession during 2018. The 2020 release 20/20 Vision, which spotlighted the cut "That Type of Time," came after this run of three. Although a subsequent 2021 agreement with Columbia proved short-lived, it produced the Lil Durk collaboration "Stashbox"; Tay continued his upward path on his own with "Rich All My Life," a track that featured Lil Baby. The 2022 album 4eva in My Bag arrived with appearances from Babyface Ray and Kash Doll. He later finalized a joint venture with Giant Music, and in the following year he issued a deluxe edition of 4eva in My Bag expanded by the new song "Ask" that includes A Boogie wit da Hoodie.
