Biography
Byron Lynn Nettles, Jr., the Houston-based rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer known as Yung Pooda, first surfaced in 2017 through an array of singles and freestyles that highlighted his singular cadence and adaptable trap sound. His global introduction arrived in 2020 with the Cool & Dre-produced single "Repeat Dat."
Raised in the modest Texas community of Orange, he later settled in Houston, where early notice followed from collaborations including "Get Some Money (with Hogg Booma)" and "Beat Up the Block (with Paul Wall)." Citing an eclectic set of influences that spans Andre 3000, Lil Wayne, Beethoven, Sade, Gucci Mane, and Big L, he signed with It's A 10 Records in 2020 and reunited with Grammy-winning producer Cool & Dre to ready "Repeat Dat" as his debut release, scheduled for his first EP, Vivid Pictures, later that year.
