Biography
Unlike countless performers drawn to the spotlight’s allure, Zack Bia entered the scene without any deliberate design. What followed—his evolution into a DJ and then the head of a label dedicated to nurturing fresh voices—reflected far more calculated intent.
Zack Bialobos came into the world in New York City in 1996 and grew up chiefly under his mother’s care once his parents separated. He secured entry to Beverly Hills’ lone public high school via a special permit and later spent a short time at the University of Southern California after transferring from a community college. His path opened on his nineteenth birthday when he stepped into a Los Angeles nightclub and received an unexpected welcome from Fetty Wap, the artist behind the hit single “Trap Queen,” who spontaneously offered him a seat at his table to mark the occasion. A club promoter mistakenly assumed he belonged to the rapper’s inner circle, and by summer’s close he was earning income as an amateur promoter ushering acquaintances into venues.
A legitimate hospitality firm soon brought him aboard, where he mastered the details of event coordination and DJ programming. Reaching twenty-one, his efforts had forged ties with high-profile figures including Drake, who began referencing him in tracks and featuring him in visuals, as well as fashion designer Virgil Abloh. Over the ensuing years he was also linked romantically—speculatively with Kylie Jenner and genuinely with singers Madison Beer and Olivia Rodrigo.
In 2018 he expanded his role by co-founding the independent Field Trip Recordings, a venture that secured major-label partnerships for emerging rappers such as SSGKobe, Slump6s, and Yeat. Shifting into the spotlight himself in 2023, he issued the EP Learn to Fly as both artist and producer, enlisting Don Toliver, Lil Yachty, and JID. The following year he dropped the dance-floor single “DAMN!”.
